Summer 4-H Camps

In partnership with 4-H and Entheos Academy, we are offering several summer day camps. The camps are presented by volunteers, allowing us to offer them to the community at a very low cost.  Below is a description of each camp being offered, age range, and cost.  You can register a child for any of the camps by clicking on this link: 4-H Camp Registrations


Mini Camps 2013



Backyard Superheroes:

July 1-2, 9:00 am – 12:00   Grades: Kindergarten-4th,  $20.00, Entheos Kearns Campus

 Kids will learn how to be superheroes in their own back yard by learning how to do citizen science! Learn how to count robins for scientists, or measure rain for climate control. Learn to track ladybugs and butterflies, and how to upload the information you gather to help real scientists. This camp will be a mix of hands on science projects and related arts and craft activities. Much of our time will be spent outside. We will have a picnic celebration on July 2nd at noon for kids to show off what they have learned.



Gear Tech 21 Camp

 July 15-17, 10:00 am- 3:00 pm
Ages 10-14 North Star Academy, 2920 W 14010 South Bluffdale, UT, $65.00. 

The purpose of Gear Tech 21 is to give kids a chance to use hands on technology in a meaningful way. Students will spent their time doing hands on activities in three technology areas: robotics, GPS systems, and Global positioning. These will be three days filled with hands on technology activities.


Bright Futures Camp

July 29-30, 9 am - 12 pm
Kindergarten-5th grade, Cost: $20.00. Location: Entheos Kearns Campus: 

This is a hands on camp for kids interested in different areas of science and technology. We will learn about six different areas of technology, and learn some fun hands on science and engineering
activities that you can do at home. This program will also integrate art with science, and incorporate activities that correlate with current displays at the Leonardo museum.


SEA Perch Camp 

July 11-12,  9:00 am-2:00 pm Entheos Kearns Campus
Ages 9-14  Cost: $20.00 

Do you like robots? Are you interested in building a robot that can maneuver underwater? Campers will be divided into teams, and each team will build an underwater robot designed by the US Office of Naval Research. We will then complete some challenges using our robots.


Robotics Retreat 

August 5-6, 9am-1pm:  Ages 9-14 Entheos Kearns Campus  Free for those on an Entheos First Lego League Team

This is for kids who are signed up to take part on one of our First Lego League Teams in the fall. We will be using these two days to work on our project and get most of the design completed so that we can focus on the robot once the challenge is released. There is no extra cost for this event if you are on an Entheos First Lego League team. For information on joining a team, please email entheos4h@gmail.com. Bring a sack lunch.


Intro to Robotics   

August 7th, 9 am – 2pm.  Ages: 9-14. Cost: $12.00 Entheos Kearns, 4710 W 6200 S 

Are you interested in robotics, but not ready to commit to a First Lego League team? Come and see what it is all about! We will be working in small teams to build a sample robot using Mindstorms NXT kits, and then program it to complete a mission. This is a one day, hands on introductory seminar. This program will meet the requirements of the Boy Scouts robotics merit badge. 


Jr. Robotics 

 June 17-18, Times: 9 am- 1pm Ages: 5-9.  Entheos Kearns Campus 4710 W 6200 S Cost: $30.00.

Is your child interested in robotics, but too young for First Lego League? Come and learn to build and program a robot using the Lego Mindstorms NXT system. You will build a robot from
instructions, and then learn how to program the robot to do tasks. We will take our robots on a wild safari. They will help us to get bamboo to the picky panda, get ice to the penguins, and feed the baby
giraffe. This is a great introduction to engineering for young students. Bring a sack lunch.


Slimy, Gooey, Gross!

August 5-9, 9 am – 12 pm
Ages: 6-9  Entheos Kearns Campus Cost: $75 

We will explore slimy, gooey, gross science while we conduct all kinds of icky, sticky experiments. Get ready to play in some slimy, yucky science fun! (This camp presented by the Salt Lake County Extension office.


Electronics Camp

September 14, Ages 9-18, 9am-3pm, Entheos Kearns Campus. Cost: $12

This is a one-day introduction to Electronics that will fulfill the requirements of the Boy Scout Electricity and Electronics Merit Badges.  It will also fulfill the Cub Scout Bear Electricity and Webelos Engineer requirements.  Girls are also welcome to attend.  This may be used as a 4-H project for the county fair by both boys and girls.
